Louisa Valentin started her musical career in the Coro de Niños de San Juan (San Juan’s Children’s Choir), Puerto Rico’s premier children’s choir. During this time she was instructed in sight singing and music theory. She continued her musical training at the Instituto de Música Juan Morel Campos, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, where she studied Music Theory, Music History, and concert flute.

Through 2004-2005 she was selected to participate in the North Jersey Regional Women’s Choir and the New Jersey All State Women’s Choir. She competed in various festivals as member of Mt. Olive High School’s several vocal groups, including the premier chamber ensemble, winning several state titles in the process.

Eventually Louisa earned her Bachelor’s in Music – Classical Vocal Performance – from William Paterson University in 2009. Since then she has traveled to Italy to perform for the International Academy of Music, sang with the Morris Choral Society, and is member of the New Jersey Choral Society.

In the summer of 2016 Louisa became cantor to St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson, NJ. She cantors 5:30pm Saturday vigil masses and various special celebration masses throughout the year.

Louisa also performs as a freelance liturgical and classical singer in North New Jersey.
